A New Beginning

...because that would be a lie. However something I am okay at is focusing on what I can do something about. It was something I was already doing, due to the lack of work I have in the next couple of months, so that's the path I will keep walking, even though I'm not going to pretend it's easy. Life, it seems, likes to throw me from one stress to the next, and all I can do is my best. Sometimes it feels like it will never be enough, yet I still keep going.

So, if you know anyone who needs a ghost or an editor then please send me a DM. If not all help received via Ko-fi is much appreciated. Reaching the goal would take this stress off my shoulders, and then it will be much easier to think about next steps.

It's hard to believe how close to Christmas, and 2025, it now is. My only Christmas wish this year (now Aaron's back) is to reach my storage goal over at Ko-fi. With the fact I have no space due to living in a room once more being able to keep what I do own is the priority, rather than getting anything new. Hitting this will make me very happy, so all help is appreciated.

Due to some work complications I'm hoping for a little help financially. If I can hit the storage goal it would really make my life a lot easier.

Due to an unexpected change I won't be paid when I thought I would, and any help would lift a lot of stress off my shoulders.

Although I'm not assuming anything at this point, because we're still in the early stages of communication, I do have a potential new client, and I'm still working to bring in some more via both LinkedIn and Twitter (sorry, not sorry). I'm still stressed. That's not going to change until I have some actual work to do in August, but all I can do is wait to see what happens.

What I'm aiming for is a mix of work, including outlining, worldbuilding, and editing. I take a 50% deposit with new clients, which then goes down to 25% after working with them a couple of times. However I'm also going to share my Ko-fi again. Right now my focus is on the storage costs, but if I can also get some money toward rent it would be really helpful.

I think, finally, I'm at the point where I can regain some kind of routine. Until I start getting things more organised I don't know how well it will work out, but it needs to happen. Still getting through some struggles, both ours and Mum and Aaron's, but things have been fine since the last blip. However we are are limited time here, which means we need to be working on making plans, something we haven't done yet. Mostly to have a little time to destress after the mess February was. Going through all of that really wasn't easy.

Honestly, I don't think I know how to put into words how stressful it all was. Suddenly not having somewhere to go when there was a plan in place for months was really too much to deal with after everything else we'd been through before that. On the subject there's no update on the estate - Mum tried to get one, because apparently the cottage was going to be sold in two weeks after they left, but so far it hasn't even been listed. This isn't a surprise, unfortunately.

This is the reason for a reminder of the Moving Fund - whatever happens we do need to move out of Mum and Aaron's, but finances are still complicated, especially with how much time the estate is taking. Mum also has other problems she wants to get solved first before she can deal with pushing harder there (it's been a very complicated time, and she can only really deal with one stress at a time). We have almost everything we own in storage, so if we can get even half of next month it would help (it's £200 a month, so an extra £100 into the fund would take a weight off my shoulders).

On Wednesday last week my copy of Windows corrupted. The PC overheated, which it's done far too many times, because most of the parts within it are over a decade old now, which led into the blue screen cycle of doom. It's been solved now, although there are still some things that need to be sorted, one of which is upgrading those parts. I have a processor and RAM, the graphics card and power supply were updated relatively recently, so all I need is the motherboard - which has been sourced. However I don't currently have the money for it, so I have a Ko-fi goal for it. Even getting halfway toward it would be great, with how this year has been, and I have my birthday coming up, which is honestly going to be a very hard day.

With the rant I posted I forgot something - I created a Discord for the Many Worlds. For now it's just snippets, and other things from me, but once I'm feeling a little more myself I'm going to add in at least one chatting channel.

I don't normally post things like this, but I think this Christmas is going to be bleak, so I thought I'd share a wishlist. Nothing on it's super expensive - with the most expensive thing being a bluetooth keyboard, and the second most being teabags (I live an exciting life), with there being no expectation. These are just things I'd like to be prepared for next year, along with a book on Critical Role, which is half research, for something I've got planned for the Many Worlds.

I've got almost everything mirrored, and Patreon is going to be easier for the world building posts, but I'm happy with it right now. Still hoping to get enough for a digital art tablet, or at least halfway toward it, because it's really going to help with my mental health as the country slowly falls apart around us all.
